Terms of Use

Convenience translation — the German version at /agb is the legally binding one.
1. Scope and provider
These terms govern the use of the “Tessera” platform at tessera.at, pds.tessera.at and id.tessera.at as well as the provider’s associated applications (together: the “Service”). The provider is Hubert Wolski, Steinböckengasse 6/2/10, 1140 Vienna, Austria (see Imprint). By creating an account or using the Service you accept these terms.
2. The Service
The Service provides software: a decentralised digital identity based on the AT Protocol (sign-in exclusively via passkey), associated applications, and non-custodial wallet software. Use is currently free of charge. The Service is under active development (“beta”); there is no entitlement to permanent availability, specific features or freedom from defects. The provider may change or discontinue the Service with reasonable notice; the AT Protocol’s data export capabilities remain unaffected.
3. No custody, no financial services
The wallet feature is pure software: cryptographic keys are generated exclusively on your devices and protected by your passkeys. The provider never has access to your keys or assets and never holds customer funds. The provider does not perform banking, payment, investment or crypto-asset services within the meaning of the MiCA regulation and gives no investment advice.
Funding and withdrawing the wallet (“on-/off-ramp”) is — where available — provided by independent, separately regulated third parties (e.g. MoonPay). Such use creates a contract exclusively between you and that provider, which also performs the statutory identity verification (KYC).
4. Crypto-asset risks
- Transactions (e.g. “zaps”) are irreversible — an accidental or erroneous payment cannot be undone.
- The value of crypto-assets can fluctuate significantly; total loss is possible.
- Losing all passkeys and recovery means results in irrecoverable loss of access to identity and wallet. You alone are responsible for backups.
5. Public data
The AT Protocol is an open, federated network. Profile, posts, game scores and payment receipts (“zap” records) are stored as public, signed records and may be replicated worldwide. Do not publish anything that should not be public. See the Privacy Policy for details.
6. User obligations
You use the Service lawfully only: no infringement of third-party rights, no unlawful content, no abuse of the infrastructure (e.g. attacks, spam, circumvention of security measures), no use for money laundering or terrorist financing. The provider may suspend or delete accounts in case of violations. Unlawful content or rule violations can be reported to moderation@tessera.at at any time; reported content is reviewed and removed on violation.
7. Liability
The provider is liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence as well as for personal injury. To the extent permitted by law, liability for slight negligence is excluded. For free-of- charge use the provider is furthermore not liable for lost profits, indirect damage, or the loss of crypto-assets resulting from price fluctuations, operating errors, key loss or acts of third parties (including the third-party providers named in section 3 and the underlying blockchain infrastructures).
8. Changes
The provider may amend these terms with effect for the future. Material changes will be announced at the next login or on the website; continued use constitutes acceptance.
9. Final provisions
Austrian law applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods; mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence remain unaffected. Should individual provisions be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.
