major pet peeve is when bugs in cartoons are too humanoid. like jiminy cricket. and they’re only drawn more bug-like if they’re supposed to be evil or scary

i'm kinda glad people noticed!! the popularisation of monobutt stuff is a double-edged sword where it feels like people imitating the shape are too strictly following exact shapes and conventions, when no it's a cartoony shape, do whatever! i highly recommend looking into "line of actions"...
