Someone will challenge me on this, but I think something that goes unappreciated in Zelda is that the races and species twist or sidestep the stock Tolkien "human heroes, snobby elves, drunk dwarves" etc. There are even distinct tribes and cultures, generally informed by agriculture/land/etc

Paper Mario Humanized Partners! Here are a few of the Paper Mario partners as I was drawing them as humans. So far I have Watt, Sushie, Bow, Bombette and Parakarry.
