At least half the states in the country have some kind of restriction on trans girls in sports. But Washington would be one of the first to require medical testing to verify birth sex. Other states with bans require only proof of birth sex via a birth certificate.

I do think Democrat politicians need to keep in mind that many voters are dealing with a certain degree of residual trauma around "we voted for Dems in 2020 in the hope of crushing MAGA, and then watched Trump get away with January 6th and come back for an even more destructive round two"

If it sounds like I'm stuck on Mississippi in particular, it's because pre-civil rights Mississippi is maybe the closest any modern American state got to being a full-blown totalitarian terror regime. And now the party of multiracial liberal democracy can now credibly compete there statewide.
