Max has been waiting 78 days for someone to see him. After his family chose not to reclaim him, he became another large dog sitting in a shelter kennel, hoping someone will give him a chance. Max is looking for a solo dog home and could live with teens. He deserves to be someone’s beloved companion, not another dog overlooked behind kennel doors. This handsome 2 year young Shepherd mix may be a little unsure at first, but behind those cautious eyes is a truly sweet soul just waiting for someone patient enough to let him bloom. With a few treats, kind words, and a little encouragement, Max slowly begins to let his guard down and once he does, he melts right into you for pets and affection. Watching him go from hesitant to gently leaning into the handler for scratches is incredibly rewarding. Max is highly food motivated (snacks are definitely the way to his heart!) and already knows “sit.” He walks nicely with guidance on leash, however new sounds and unfamiliar situations can make him nervous, so he’ll thrive with a calm, understanding home that can continue helping him build confidence at his own pace. This sweet boy doesn’t need someone perfect, he just needs someone willing to give him a chance and lots of love. 🐾3-y/o Nyla surrendered mid July b/c her family was evicted. House/crate-trained, sweet, lovable, quiet, cuddly, wiggly, friendly, excited; anxious at ACC. Playful w/ strangers, kids & dogs.
