Again, the first rule of Trumpism: Nothing bad can ever EVER be Donald Trump's fault, and he gets full and complete credit for anything good, whether he had anything to do with it or not. This demented dog is far too old to learn new tricks. His main focus now will be absolving himself of blame.

This dynamic is putting Fox in a precarious position -- its viewers are slipping away as they become disenchanted with Trump, but the remnant are the hardest core of MAGA, preventing the network from meaningfully pivoting.

Trump raged at Fox News for having Dems on the air and for publishing polls that displease him. In effect, Trump is furious at Fox for *failing to do enough* to deceive the MAGA base about his failures. In a sense the whole MAGA propaganda project itself failed. 3/ newrepublic.com/article/2175...

JD will be: I was always against the war in Iran and the media will buy the flip flop. If JD was smart, he would go "the country has spoken, we need a new direction, this guy is cuckoo and corrupt, let's invoke the 25th". I say, go for it.

This is a generational shift--both of our sons feel it. Clarity of message and steadfastness of purpose. 24yr cited AES in Michigan, Talarico in Texas, and Ossoff in Georgia in particular as inspirational among his friends. He's also ready for Schumer and Jeffries to shut up.

One thing we discuss here is the extraordinary resourcefulness some of these Dem candidates showed at a very difficult time. They really created something like a new moral politics for the era of Late Stage Trumpism.

None of the big names in the Texas Democratic Party wanted to face off against Abbott. Many (🙋‍♀️) viewed Gina Hinojosa as a sacrificial lamb who could hopefully generate enough enthusiasm to pull a couple of close legislative races across the finish line. She is now the Governor-elect of Texas.
