NUBSLI

@nubsli.com

The union for British Sign Language translators and interpreters.

We're very sorry to hear of the passing of our colleague Peter Llewellyn-Jones. His contributions to the interpreting and deaf community leave a lasting legacy, as well as his support for NUBSLI. He will be greatly missed, our thoughts are with his friends and family.

For all you freelancers out there, the second part of your tax bill might be due on 31st July! And while we're talking tax, don't forget to do your self-assessment for 2025/26 - going for an early submission this year? #StrongerTogether

Today is Coops Day! Inequality and exclusion fuel conflict. Cooperatives tackle both by sharing ownership, creating livelihoods, and strengthening local institutions. We celebrate cooperatives as ‘local infrastructure for peace’. @ICAcoop #Coops4Peace #StrongerTogether

If you weren't at the conference, you will have missed the launch of our Hardship Fund, the launch of our merchandise store (all profits go to the Hardship Fund) and the first Wes Mehaffy Award for Outstanding Contribution to NUBSLI going to Wes Mehaffy himself. #StrongerTogether

57 years ago, an uprising took place at New York City’s Stonewall Inn, with LGBT+ people, long frustrated by police brutality, finally fighting back. This day is a reminder of the power of standing together against those who seek to divide us. #PrideIsaProtest #StrongerTogether

We are gutted that the Deaf Anarchists were not able to attend today due to logistic and health reasons but look forward to working with them in the future, and thank them for their video messages! #StrongerTogether

A member of our Fees Action Group has presented about making our profession sustainable though sustainable fees, using 'stair cases not cliff faces' as an analogy of steady fee change, not everything all at once. #StrongerTogether

We see a lot of colleagues say they keep meaning to join NUBSLI but haven't gotten around to it yet. No time like the present! It'll only take about 10 minutes and the benefits are endless. Join now, we'd love to have you on board 👍nubsli.com/join-us #StrongerTogether
