He/him. Photographer, linguist, amateur writer. Millennial and queer, tired of living in “historical times”.

Astrophotographer Adam (AJ) Smadi caught this image a few hours ago from Washington state. A thin crescent Moon, sunlight illuminating the rugged lunar surface. And 2,400 times farther away—and on the other side of the Sun—mighty Jupiter, and its moons Io (left) and Ganymede (right).

A crescent Moon seen during the day, arcing from upper left to lower right of the frame. At lower centre is the full disk of Jupiter; the small dots to its upper left and lower right and Io and Ganymede, respectively.

In my mind I built this narrative that I lost interest in “real” sex around the time of the pandemic. But I’ve just reread lyrics I wrote through my twenties, and two thirds of them are about how much dating and hooking up bored me, and what an invariable disappointment sex and relationships were.

Mercury Transfer Module separation confirmed! 📡 ✅ Signal acquired via our Cebreros deep-space antenna confirms the spacecraft is healthy and operating as expected. The MPO and Mio spacecrafts are now on their way to Mercury orbit insertion on 21 November. Farewell, MTM. Mercury awaits. ☀️🛰️

Without saying your age, what is your favorite movie that came out when you were 20 years old? Though admittedly, I remember that year for the movie I hated the most that came out when I was 20 years old (which was the “adaptation” of Dorian Gray).

Without saying your age, what is your favorite movie that came out when you were 20 years old? Probably the best movie premier I've ever been to. 🥹💜

What’s with the BlueSky algorhithm pushing on me boomers just resharing second-hand text-on-background platitude images with zero elaboration? Like, I even agree with most of them, but this ain’t Facebook, sir/ma’am, are you lost?

The only upside of gen AI I can think of is that it has shut up my environmental guilt over using AC and taking very long showers. If we’re so adamant about dooming our planet in exchange for slopaganda, crappy flyers and legal-washed CSAM, I might as well enjoy my little comforts on the way out.

So, writing my Greek Mythology smut I tend to leave the guys as physically nondescript as possible (aside from, you know, general smoking hotness) so the readers can picture them however they prefer. But I do obviously have my own ideal cast in mind, and I picture Ares as François Arnaud.

You know, with Rupert Grint it isn’t even about career suicide, ‘cause at this point it’s more like euthanasia. It’s about the sheer humiliation of having had to grovel before a smug, smirking, cigar-smoking Joanne, repeating after her. ‘Cause we all KNOW it happened. Can you imagine the sting?

I almost made a joke on how bold it was to cast Kit Harington in a kid’s series, where there’s no way he can show the only assets he’s really worth having on-screen for, but then I realised I sincerely have never really liked him from the neck down either.
