Film historian and urbanist. Co-president of Domitor, the international society for the study of early cinema. Coming attractions include A Teaching Companion to Silent Cinema (Rutgers) and a history of advertising film (Illinois).

Cover of "Copy/Rights and Early Cinema," a yellow cover with a black-and-white photo of some early film folks being silly.

In memory and honor of the sociologist and philosopher Edgar Morin, who, in 1960, published the essay in which he coined the term cinéma-vérité and co-directed, with Jean Rouch, the film—Chronicle of a Summer—that showed what he had in mind. He passed away yesterday, at age 104.
