Another Chain of Memories Comm in the bubbles for @gulop1th3cuz.bsky.social and @funtastic.bsky.social This one has to be one of my favorites, not only because I draw a mouth going a mile a minute, but also because I had fun drawing the eye twitch thing. Child on a sugar rush.
Congratulations to Team Comedy on our win!! 🎉 Here's a repost of my more colorful attacks this year! #ArtFight #ArtFight2026 #DigitalArt #GiftArt

A new Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories inspired comm! This time for @ladyaubreyy.bsky.social! This was a wonderful chance for me to mess around with more expressions and breaking more of the boundaries of the dialogue box.

Very excited that our paper about ichnofossils in ungulates from La Venta is finally out today in @jvertpaleo.bsky.social. This has been several years of work from colleagues around the world, including @jwmorenob.bsky.social and many others, and with fantastic art by @literallymiguel.bsky.social
🐢 Advanced 3D scanning has been used to reveal the detailed skull, shell and limb anatomy of an ancient turtle fossil from Germany's Messel Pit, showing it to be a fascinating mix of primitive and more modern features! ➡️ Full study here: doi.org/10.3897/fr.29.195537 @denvermuseumns.bsky.social
Episode 10 of my webcomic, Prehistories, is up! This one stars Tyrannophontes, a Mantis Shrimp. www.webtoons.com/en/canvas/pr... #paleoart #sciart #comic #art
A dryptosaur drags a baculitid ammonite shell down the beach - it is a long way to his bower, but a centrepiece like this will be worth the hassle. Trying out different styles for a book proposal I am working on!
Today's four random pieces of palaeoart: Jim Robins' Moschops, Ripley Cook's Deinocheirus, @cmkosemen.bsky.social's Tetrapodophis, and Brasilio Matsumoto's Euoplocephalus!
Ok, this concept art of the first dungeon of my game is going great! I am going to finish this up with a digital version when I get the chance! #wip #sketch #conceptart #gameart #setting #environmentart #gamedev #indiedev #rpg #tailsofempyria #roguelite
Quick sketch. Some Hippopotamus gorgops with hominins somewhere in east africa
The #pterosaurs have been much repaired and revamped. They have new heads based on new discoveries made about the originals: they had dragony, curved snouts and slit pupils! The mosasaur (currently out of water due to the drought) was, it seems, originally purple!
The Iguanodon are masterpieces in design and art, look at all the detail. Mark Witton pointed out that they have TWO horns, something I had never noticed. Every single scale and tooth has been sculpted individually. Again, these new colour schemes (which are accurate to the originals) look great.
On to actual dinosaurs, we have Megalosaurus from the Jurassic, and the Wealden (Lower Cretaceous) herbivores Hylaeosaurus (facing away!) and the two Iguanodons. The use of white paint to pick out the detail between the scales is genius and allows you to really see the intricacies of the designs...
Among my favourite are the teleosaurs, sea-going thalattosuchian crocodylomorphs (they're not crocodiles, stop calling them that). Fantastic amount of detail. The scute pattern on the back was copied from that of living crocodiles... incorrectly, but it does look good....
Several Lower Jurassic (Liassic) #plesiosaurs and #ichthyosaurs are present and have had repairs, though damage from bird droppings needs to be kept in check. The visibility of the giant sclerotic rings and 'ossicles' of the limbs are an oddity; it's still not clear why Hawkins chose to show them...
