I just finished filling out my ballot. I’m not a Democrat (nor am I Republican) but I voted for Democrats up and down the ballot. The Republican Party has been utterly discredited by all this MAGA bullshit and deserves complete repudiation by the electorate.
Bette Davis may very well have been first to use a now ubiquitous comeback. Monroe Owsley says "Come on now, let's quit kidding." Bette Davis quips "That's what he said." Poor Monroe's confused: "That's what who said? Davis: "That's what every man says." Yet another reason she is Queen Queen.
Watched a zinger of a pre-code movie titled "Ex-Lady" with Bette Davis and Gene Raymond. Bette's character, Helen, is an independent-minded woman who is an illustrator for Cosmopolitan magazine and other publications. Favorite line: "No one has any rights about me, but me."

‘Nox’ is an unforgettable work by this year’s literature laureate Anne Carson. Published in 2010, it was written in memory of her brother Michael, who was mysteriously absent prior to his death in Denmark in 2000. Palpable here is a deep sense of loss that works its way up from below.
Of course this is how Anne Carson accepts the Nobel prize.
A fantastic choice! I once sat across from her at a dinner in her honor and it was too wide a table for us to actually converse so we just shot each other knowing looks as we ignored the people to either side of us. It was one of the best one night relationships I've ever had.

Not gonna lie, I would LOVE to see the Nobel Prize in Literature awarded to Barack Obama.
One of the youngest individuals to be awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature, Albert Camus was recognised for his clear-sighted earnestness which illuminated the problems of the human conscience of the time. Later today, we will announce the 2026 literature prize. Stay tuned!
