PEN America reached out this morning because Dan Patrick ("we're coming for the books") specifically smeared CRANK and me & they're concerned for my safety. This, only hours after reading a thread about how CRANK saved her, turned her life around & set her on her path toward being a writer herself.

I posted this poem a few years ago. I wish things weren't worse today.
Locking up librarians and booksellers in AR. Locking up women who travel out of state for healthcare in TX. Locking up people for being brown in pretty much every state. Anyone seeing a pattern here? And don't forget, due process is only available if you can afford it.

Trump's polling is in the toilet. He's losing a war with Iran. His corruption is being exposed. The Republican Party is going to get creamed in November, and their new way out is to rake Fauci over the coals over shit that happened under Trump's last watch. Our entire government is broken.

Reminded this evening of why I don't outline books. I had to do some pre-planning for a proposal. All valid, but the actual writing today provided something way deeper than a preliminary outline ever could. It's been a while since I've written (half in my head, half on screen) so much in one day.
