I beg any US representative to go to Gamescom in Germany, just once. See all the countries directly investing in indie games, not just the games but also buying them space to share their work to display at a global event. The US isn't there, and never has been

bc the united states doesn't do government art grants on a scale that allows anyone to make video games and so the entire US games industry is dependent on the preexisting large-scale financial apparataus of hollywood and tech. Also they don't do big enough tax incentives to get big money to uproot.

Creative friends, I had 5 days left on my annual CC plan and went into cancellation mode (was going to cancel and subscribe instead to individual apps). I got hot retention offers instead, might be worth trying if you're coming up on your renewal

🚨Breaking: Today, SCOTUS delivered a devastating blow to asylum rights. In our case, Mullin v. Al Otro Lado, the Court ruled that the gov can block people from seeking asylum at official border crossings—turning people away w/out the chance to seek the protection they have a legal right to request.

Something that helped me keep sane when I had to look for work was having a spreadsheet where I could keep every detail of job applications in one place. I updated it in 2024 & made a template, anyone can use it by clicking File > Make a Copy. 🔹 tinyurl.com/8vc5nwmn

Saying goodbye to my Intuos 3 Wacom Tablet I bought in 2005. Most of my games were created using this tablet. It still works, but modern Mac support is tough to find :( I'm thankful to have had a device so capable and important to my career for as long as I have Goodbye old friend <3 🖊🫡
