Hafsia Herzi returns behind the camera with the profoundly affecting THE LITTLE SISTER, and positions Nadia Melliti as an actor to watch after the staggering breakout turn that garnered her the Best Actress win at last year's Cannes. My review:

‘The Little Sister’ Film Review: A Strong Directorial Effort from Hafsia Herzi

Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne return to the screen with the deeply affecting YOUNG MOTHERS, a portrait of four resilient women who yearn for a more hopeful life away from the harrowing challenges they currently face. My review for @insessionfilm.bsky.social: insessionfilm.com/movie-review...

Radu Jude filme un long dialogue entre une huissière de justice et son amie dans Kontinental'25, qui dévie de l'état du climat politique de la Roumanie pour parler caca, odeurs et incommodations tout en glissant une vanne sur A perfect day de Wenders. #F1Movie is the year's best film. A leap forward in digital filmmaking through its 155-minute succession of slack-jawed, "How in the fuck did they do that?" moments with a self-reflexive turn from Brad Pitt that immediatly recalls Old Hollywood stars we no longer get. Kosinski is a real talent.

#Cannes2025 opening film LEAVE ONE DAY has finally been released in Quebec, and it's an absolute catastrophe. Bastien Bouillon is, as always, terrific, but the "jukebox musical" aspect of it all was so painful that I considered leaving the cinema when the characters began singing. Awful.
