a strange knight with no home

a long haired knight swathed in dark, slightly mismatched armour seems to be almost coming apart at the seams and is missing a left arm. their head is severed from their neck, bright turquoise green fire escaping the severed spot and their lips. a similarly colored glowing light is emanating from the slightly exposed cavity in their chest armour. in their right hand is a gauntlet, with dark liquid trickling down its surface. behind them are two large archways filled with a ghostly light, with an amalgam of faces, hands and wings making up a decorative, connective piece at the top.

Leyendecker study, but with a lucanis x rook twist. The colour palette is now purple blue and gold, the embellishments are replaced with the dragon age veilguard crow icons and motifs. There are 3 crows carrying the rose wreath now and you can find the romance flowers on the dragon age ending slide below the horses's hooves. The Cartouche reads "dellamorte"

I would add that the purpose of art is to reflect the world and the culture in it. mood/reference boards has to be of the world to discover and reflect the world. You can't comment on something that isn't there. If you're inspired by the fake and detached, you're mirroring nothing.

Been thinking on the use of GenAi for mood boards. Ethics and legal risks aside, I truly believe using GenAi as references deprives one of many pivotal things. Here’s a blurb on what I mean:

Some thoughts:
When using GenAi as a mood board you don't get sources. This means you deprive yourself from knowledge.
You generated a location? You deprived yourself of knowing more about the interesting parts of the world and why things came to be.
Generate an armor or costume? You deprived yourself on real world techniques, function, form and history.
You generated art inspirations? You deprive yourself of learning about artists from history or lock out living ones from potentially being hired.
Ethical issues of using GenAi models aside, one ends up making visuals mood boards devoid of reality and history. With it one deprives themselves from learning about our world and who is living in it, inadvertently making your work weaker, because of how detached it is from our shared human reality and history.
