Thing about that is EA owns the IP so even if Bioware became a state-subsidised "indie" studio they wouldn't be allowed develop Mass Effect anymore, only brand new games. And I can't say I see PronounQuest: The Validation Saga making GTA6 nervous.

The fundamental flaw with developing million-dollar projects to own the chuds is the false assumption that said chuds have no choice but to pay you their money to be owned. Nobody is paying to be told to go fuck themselves when they can get it every day for free.
Don't give Veilguard too much credit. Bioware died because they stopped making Bioware games and assumed their customers were big dumb wallets with no other choice but to take what they were given. Then Larian showed the whole world they could make the games Bioware wouldn't.
I know some people are probably upset, but the people who made those games you enjoyed left years and years ago. Those characters you loved were just being held hostage by greedy shitty merchandise warehouse, which was the only reason EA kept them open this long.

I actually defended Mass Effect Andromeda. Bioware died for me when they baited DLC only to go "Pre-order Anthem, suckers!" And after they betrayed those fans with that shitware, they then decided to make Dragon Age neutered and safe and not for the fans who first made it a hit.
Bioware died years ago. Hopefully the rights to Mass Effect can be auctioned off to an actual studio that makes games and not a merch warehouse that shits out insulting crap after six years of hype and six months of development.
So long, Bioware, and good riddance. You did this to yourselves.
