95 hours of my Dartmoor inspired moorland scene are done! This is the last full update you'll see of this aerial embroidery until its complete now, maybe 20 more hours? I've decided the tor-based area of the landscape will be sloped so I need to work on the little hill :) 1/2

I make aerial embroidery landscapes 🧵✈ Queer, autistic and obsessed with green! They/them or other neutral pronouns are preferred. All my current and previous work is on my site: https://linktr.ee/aerialembroidery
This was the second forest fire aerial embroidery I made back in August, short title is 'Apathy' - something I was seeing a lot of around me during the extreme heatwave. It's now available and you can see its full name in the description: victoriaroserichards.co.uk/work/forest-... 1/2
'The great green sweep' - my last big aerial embroidery (except the moorland one) until ~February as I'll be focussing booked on commissions until January. I'll still be doing small projects 😊 You can read the full details of this landscape on my site: victoriaroserichards.co.uk/work/green-m...
I haven't started my next crop circle landscape yet, I haven't decided what colour scheme to use Would you be more interested in it leaning green or golden? Which of the past two embroideries below do you prefer colour wise? I liked the extra contrast of the green but gold felt more summery!
'You'll choke too' - I wanted to reshare my wildfire aerial embroidery now summer is finally over as it really meant a lot to me. Autumn is here but as the fruit ripened much earlier than normal, I worry the little birds and animals won't have enough for the winter...
80 hours of embroidery! This aerial landscape is directly inspired by Dartmoor and I'd say I have another 30-ish hours to go? I'm now starting to fill in the fields for the sheep, the tor area will be done last as I'm still deciding whether I want a slope or not 😅 I hope you like it! #art
'What about my harvest?!' - my second embroidered crop circle! These aerial landscapes have been so fun! This one was 35 hours, the knots took less time but the circles took longer than expected 👽 now available here with the first: victoriaroserichards.co.uk/collection/a... 1/2
Just a little summer landscape now added to my site :) this aerial embroidery has dried wheat and cows grazing in meadows, as well as a group of sheep (a few of which have stuck into the cows meadow...) Now available here: victoriaroserichards.co.uk/work/late-su...
This forest fire aerial is now available! All profits are going to the Devon Wildlife Trust 🦡 the link to the listing is here: victoriaroserichards.co.uk/work/forest-...
Forest fire - 'You'll choke too'
My first ever embroidered forest fire. This is a response to widespread climate apathy and selfishness I've been feeling around me.

'You'll choke too' - an aerial embroidery landscape inspired by all the wildfires happening right now... I'm upset every time I smell smoke outside and somehow we have people starting them maliciously too! But we all breathe the same air so they'll choke too (1/2 - see thread for close-ups)
'Just visiting!' - the first in a short series of embroidered crop circles! As the first, I wanted this to be a fresher green crop field like early summer. The next will be golden shades of ripe wheat :) The knots alone took 25+ hours! Now available: victoriaroserichards.co.uk/collection/a...
This aerial embroidery mixed media landscape is the last piece currently still available on my site! The natural elements were done in embroidery, the man-made ones in card. Each cargo container is only a mm wide! You can see it with full details here: victoriaroserichards.co.uk/work/cargo-c...

30 hours of sewing so far... lots and lots of French knots but some of the grass areas are now being filled too! If you didn't see the first post, this is an aerial embroidery inspired by moorlands. At this point I still can't estimate how long it'll take in full but I'm not half way yet 😊🌱
The start of a new large aerial embroidery landscape! It'll be a French knot-heavy project inspired by moorlands with more muted, moody colours. As you can see from the marks, I don't have a concrete plan... somewhat deciding what I want to include as I go. This is the first 10 hours of work!
Sorry, I went MIA for a month on here... the heatwave made me feel very ill and then I had a mental health relapse and ended up avoiding social media since early July. I'm back on my SSRIs now and feeling much more myself again!! Much clearer and ready to be back online (see thread) 1/3 ...
My limited Giclee art prints are now live! They are on 310 gsm lightly-textured paper and use the design of one of my favourite aerial embroidery landscapes from last summer, 'Brooks and boulders'. Winding brooks across moorland with pine bark chip rocks! victoriaroserichards.co.uk/work/moorlan...
I've finally uploaded 24 new downloadable phone backgrounds onto my site! 17 are of my aerial embroidery, the others are non-aerial landscapes :) Each is £2.50 and is a small way to support my art outside of purchasing originals or prints 🌱 victoriaroserichards.co.uk/collection/a... #smallbusiness
'Arrival and departure' - my first time incorporating a city dock into my aerial embroidery! I used card art for the manmade elements, textiles for natural. Each cargo container is about 0.7 x 2 mm :) Plus some boats collecting/depositing them! Now here: victoriaroserichards.co.uk/collection/a...
Holkham beach, Norfolk - I was commissioned by someone to replicate this beautiful beach and all its shades and textures as an aerial embroidery! Lots of grasses, reeds and mud mixed in with the sand. Not sure if the tide in coming on or going out though... More close-ups are in the thread: 1/2
I've added my orchard and allotment themed landscape into a hoop frame I've had for a long while and I love how it looks! I think I may have to sell this aerial embroidery along with it, I think its such a perfect match for the landscape 😊 what do you think?
'Beltsville Agricultural Research Centre', Maryland - I was privately commissioned to memorialise the BARC by a past employee after learning it will be shut down by the USDA after over 100 years of research. They wanted to focus of this aerial embroidery to be the field plots... 1/3 (see thread)
'My heart beats [in fields of] gold #2' - my newest spring embroidery landscape of oilseed/canola fields in acid yellow, earthy tilled fields and cows grazing in meadows 💛 spring is finally here! My heart feels lighter 🌱 now available here: victoriaroserichards.co.uk/work/oilseed... #art

Some more angles of this embroidery-knitting combo aerial landscape (bit of a mouthful to type)! Lots of summer heathers and soft hills :) I've got the whole piece photographed on the second post in the thread! 1/2
'The heather and the hills' - close-ups of my newest aerial embroidery, combining knitting for the base again! Summer heathers, sheep and ponies dot this wild landscape... it won't be available until I made a little frame for it but I have more photos to put up in a couple days :)
Thank you so much for all the love for this spring landscape! It means a lot to me :) I'm proud of how my aerial embroideries have evolved and developed of the years, I think this piece is a good representation of it 🌸🌱🌷
'A simple (perfect) life' - my spring landscape is finally finished! An apple orchard in bloom, old railway, sheep with their lambs and an allotment being prepared for growing :) Zoom in to see all the other tiny details too... I think this might be my favourite aerial embroidery I've ever done!
For stress-related and creative reasons, my aerial embroidery commissions are now closed until October. I have the full explanation on my Instagram, linked below. Photographed is a past commission of Dunvegan in Alberta, Canada, one of my proudest ever landscapes! 😊 www.instagram.com/p/DXHxJARDIqQ/

My apple orchard in bloom... and rusty old train tracks above it! This is my first time doing tracks on an aerial embroidery and I'm pretty happy with the effect; the flowering trees were a chore but I'm happy with them too! The last element to add is the allotment to the left 🥕🥬🌱 #landscape
