BREAKING: New Mexico’s Attorney General Raúl Torrez has sued DOJ for access to the Epstein files. This is the lawsuit I’ve been waiting for. In my view, New Mexico’s Attorney General has the strongest case to force DOJ to turn over the Epstein files. ⬇️

BREAKING: In 2019, SDNY prosecutors persuaded New Mexico’s AG to shut down his Epstein investigation by promising to share evidence of state crimes. Two weeks ago, SDNY U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton broke that promise. Today, he was confirmed as Director of National Intelligence.

A conservative policy adviser and a former Trump White House press secretary accused Max Miller of domestic abuse. A Republican Senator called him “a danger to my daughter.” For how long will Congressional Republicans dismiss fellow Republicans to protect one of their own?

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com · yesterday

RAJU: Sen. Moreno is calling for Max Miller to resign. Do you side w/Moreno? THUNE: It's a family matter &, um, I don't have any observations beyond that Q: If a member of Congress is facing domestic abuse allegations, should they continue to serve? T: It's a House matter. It's a family issue too

Stop the false equivalence. No other President sued his own government to secure immunity for himself and his family, created a fund to reward cop beaters, and demanded prosecution of his political enemies. Trump’s weaponization of DOJ is unprecedented and you just endorsed it.

Tillis admits Trump is weaponizing the DOJ during his speech announcing he'll vote for Todd Blanche: "Maybe it's a little bit more intense in this administration than the last one ... I'm going to support Mr Blanche's nomination"

Trump on Platner: “Can you imagine if the Republicans had him?” “There's never been a guy like that that's run for office.” Trump on Max Miller: “He’s a good person…it’s accusations.” The double standard is glaring.

Trump on Platner: "Can you imagine if the Republicans had him? What if we had him? If it meant losing the Senate, you would not let that happen. There's never been a guy like that that's run for office."

If Congress did its job, Todd Blanche would be out of a job. Blanche’s seashells “threat” case against James Comey is the clearest vindictive prosecution we’ve ever seen. By confirming Blanche as AG, Congressional Republicans are endorsing Trump’s weaponization of DOJ.

NEW: Rep. Max Miller’s ex-wife accuses him of harassing, threatening and putting hands on her lawyer—after alleging he held a gun to her head, pushed her into a wall, and fractured her toddler’s collarbone. The GOP’s failure to investigate such serious allegations is outrageous.

When asked about subpoenas to journalists’ family members in court, the prosecutor said: “That was an error. We own it.” But because Trump is incapable of admitting errors and owning his administration’s failures, he reverts to lying and blaming Obama for things he didn’t do.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com · 2w ago

Q: Do you think it's appropriate to subpoena family members of journalists to find out information? TRUMP: I don't know. Barack Hussein Obama did it all the time. He went after journalists and nobody said anything about it.

Congratulations Spain! My top 5: 1. Spain’s goal from Ferran Torres. 2. Mikel Merino blocking Messi’s shot with his face. 3. Shakira’s performance with young Ugandan dancers. 4. The photo of Messi holding baby Yamal. 5. Jameis Winston as the ultimate World Cup super fan.

I worked with Todd Blanche at SDNY. He shouldn’t be AG. Two years ago, I warned he’d become Trump’s Roy Cohn for a top job. Now Cohn’s playbook is DOJ practice: Deny facts. Defy courts. Target political enemies. Congress will confirm him. Defending the rule of law is up to us.

Trump’s family crypto firm wants to be a bank. A Trump appointee is expected to approve it. A president found liable for defrauding banks is set to own one — without any meaningful oversight by federal regulators who answer to Trump. This could become the biggest grift of Trump’s presidency.

The roadmap to Epstein’s network is hiding in plain sight: in former U.S. Virgin Islands AG Denise George’s case file. It’s now held by the new AG —who was Epstein’s accountant’s defense lawyer—and a Washington, D.C. law firm. Congress should subpoena the case file—and George.

BREAKING: Judge doesn’t trust Blanche’s word that the Jan 6 slush fund is dead. She’s right. His continued interest in paying “weaponization” victims, his refusal to rescind the fund in writing or swear that it’s dead are all strong signs that the fund is alive.

Kristy Greenberg@kristygreenberg.bsky.social · 2mo ago

BREAKING: Acting AG Todd Blanche just refused to swear under penalty of perjury that DOJ’s slush fund is dead. That’s the clearest sign yet that Trump’s plan to use your taxpayer dollars to pay Jan 6 rioters is still alive. ⬇️

The Trump administration wants you to believe Trump’s $1.8 billion slush fund is dead. It’s not. The Acting AG didn’t kill it. A judge didn’t kill it. The plan to use your taxpayer money to pay Capitol rioters is still very much alive.

Rewarding a sex trafficker. Shielding powerful people. Targeting political enemies. Ignoring survivors. Protecting Trump. Those aren’t the actions of an independent AG. They’re the actions of Trump’s lawyer. Senate Republicans know it. The question is whether any of them care.

This speech captured what this moment means to Knicks fans: acknowledging our suffering, honoring the legends, and celebrating the memories that kept us coming back. It took me back to watching the ‘90s Knicks —listening to Clyde’s smooth rhymes in my Spree jersey. All the feels.

Mamdani's speech at the Knicks parade was easily the best I've ever heard at an event of that sort. I posted the whole thing on YouTube for your viewing pleasure. Highly recommended.

NYT Bombshell: Blanche’s push to release Epstein grand jury files was purely a political stunt. He knew there was nothing significant in them and knew judges wouldn’t release them. The goal? Shift blame from Trump to the judges. Congress and the courts must investigate.
