3/3 Multiple aquariums are now breeding sea stars, and it seems possible to cryobank reproductive cells and even larvae that can assure the long-term preservation of these fascinating animals that contribute to the resilience of highly productive kelp forest communities.
2/3 Great facilitation and expert participants produced a proposed course of actions that offers hope for structuring a major contribution that to help revitalize kelp forest communities over the immediate and long-term.
1/3 I was excited to participate in a workshop organized by The Nature Conservancy to evaluate potential options to secure the future of and restore sunflower sea stars (and other "starfish") species.
I've moved my social media communications to this platform and look forward to resuming intriguing, exciting, mature, and compassionate conversations about species conservation, indigenous advocacy, biobanking, and a more equitable, diverse, and inclusive future.
