The Pope isn’t condemning AI just cause he sees its manifold late capitalist woes and obvious issues of morality, it’s also cause of Silicon Valley’s ties to Opus Dei and their direct meddling in US democracy. I know that reads like a conspiracy theory but it’s not, as long as Peter Thiel is around.
One day in the future (probably when I’m back to academic unemployment) I’ll write something about Ted Lasso as the most lapsed Catholic TV show out there. Not most Catholic, most LAPSED Catholic. Iykyk.
