This comes after FWPD officers killed 27-year-old Leon Davis while in a hospital, and shot 19-year-old Caution Mann while he was experiencing a mental health crisis.

49 pets have been transferred to Seattle Humane from eastern WA due to the wildfires. This has helped free up space in shelters located in Spokane so that more animals can get care and treatment. Frankie Boy & Marble May were two kittens that were recently transferred. Image: Seattle Humane

Seattle suddenly ends its Trans and Queer Community Stabilization Interdepartmental Team; $300k proposed for immediate relief
By Hannah Saunders The Trans and Queer Community Stabilization Interdepartmental Team (TQ IDT), which was created by the Office of the Mayor and the Seattle Office for Civil Rights (SOCR) in June in response to an ongoing internal Trans refugee crisis, has suddenly been closed. At the same time, Councilmember Alexis Mercedes Rinck has proposed a $300,000 amendment to the supplemental budget to fund community stabilization, which is headed to council for a vote on April 11.

Independent antifascist media is so important right now. There is a long history of antifascist media playing a KEY role in obstructing fascist movements. Not just with Nazi Germany. But also here in the U.S. We have a history of people creating journalism FOR and BY the people. 🧵

Independent journalism is going to be even more important. It’s also important that we make sure people understand this is happening. There are many people who don’t watch or read news outside of their regular local news channels. And that’s what they count on.
