Mine - who is MP for an area with a considerably higher than average number of elderly and disabled people who might be interested, engaged with, and impacted by this very important issue - was, YET AGAIN, dicking around in America and didn't bother voting 👍🏻 www.theguardian.com/politics/ng-...

How did your MP vote on the reintroduced assisted dying bill?

MPs today voted not to approve the assisted dying bill at its second reading. The bill, which was brought back to the Commons after being blocked in the Lords, would have allowed terminally ill people...

This week, 1892: John L. Sullivan, Heavyweight Champion of the World, lost his title to 'Gentleman Jim' Corbett after one hour and 18 minutes in the ring. Sullivan's seconds said to the press: "We met a younger man, and we stayed once too long. He is an American. That's all we've got to say."

It might just look like a private dining shed at Harbour Lights, Walton-on-the-Naze. But it is now Deep Throat's car park. The grassy knoll. A Clacton landmark to rival the pier (snapped this last week over oysters and a delightful cold seafood platter!) 😂🦪

Selfie taken by Sarah with her brother in law and her sister, who is conveniently ducking so we can see the dining shed in the background, seen of a July lunch for Farage and some under cover reporters posing as illegal donors.

I've talked to the Reform councillor in Portsmouth who had to explain to a masked vigilante mob outside the city's Marriott hotel that a group of young men who had arrived on a coach were not asylum seekers but an U21 cricket team from Pakistan. He called it a “massively unfortunate incident”.

Seeing post-grad graduation ceremony content on my feeds this week reminds me of the PhD I interviewed while a press officer for Queen Mary in 2011. What will you do next? I asked Dr John North. "I will consult my Professor on the choices open to a post-doctorate research student.” He was 93 💪🏼

I want to experiment with, refine, and choose the tools I find helpful. I personally find that my brain is sufficient. Like other tools brains work best when regularly sharpened and well cared-for. Stop pissing on my shoe and telling me it’s raining.

Correct! I live right next to the RNLI station in Clacton - a few years ago our MP (before he was an MP) described these brilliant volunteers as a "taxi service for illegal migrants". Donations rose 3,000% the following day🖕🏼He's completely ignored them here since becoming MP, as far as I'm aware...

The RNLI have some of the best people in Britain volunteering for them. They put their lives on the line when they are called on and they will rescue anyone who needs them. Because every life matters, and offering help is the right thing to do. You can donate here: rnli.org

I really wish someone among all the press who were so into Clacton this summer would deep dive on how a rogue, suspended landlord in Southend appears to have got the lease on a big Clacton centre ex-bank, put up a fake sign for his company, and ran a weed farm in it for a year. Next to Greggs.

Very gutted to hear about the sudden passing of Andy Williams aka AEW wrestler 'The Butcher.' Seemed like a lovely fella, also played guitar for Every Time I Die. Great that he got to live two dreams simultaneously. Just look at him! What a perfect look for a pro wrestler. 48 is tragically young.

Your regular reminder that Nigel Farage IS the establishment. There’s no-one more establishment than him. Public school, the city, career in politics, mates in all the right places, terrible dress sense.

80,000+ sold out at Croke Park, Dublin, for A WOMEN'S BOXING MATCH. And the crowd respectfully packed out bums in seats hours early for the full under-card too. Unlike certain miserable big boxing and wrestling events in a certain place. Lovely stuff.
