#WansteadPark Litter pick report from Gill James - "We had 12 pickers. The Park was empty and hot so I was surprised we had anyone! We didn't sell much... The litter pick is always more popular in winter, and I met our charming new Countryside Manager so you never know who you will meet!"

Geraldine Roberts, author of acclaimed "The Angel and the Cad", about the disastrous marriage of Wanstead heiress Catherine Tylney-Long to Hon. William Wellesley Pole, has launched her new book about one of William's sisters who, with her husband, left a more positive legacy -

A walk to welcome the cows back to the park... Nuru, Taylor and Veronica arrived this week. This walk is to see what they are up to, where they are and how to find them, including using technology! Meet at the Map Tree (bottom of The Glade) on 17 May at 11.00 am. #WansteadPark

Litter pick report from Gill James - "A bitterly cold day, the Park was very quiet and we had just 6 litter pickers- plus Jo, Lucy and myself. We recruited one new member. We sold quite a few Wanstead Park dinosaurs (the real ones are always just out of sight) and made £42."

#WansteadPark litter pick report from Lucy Dawes - "We had 13 litter pickers out and we sold lots of knitted ducks .... There were a lot of people who had come to see the bluebells and knew very little about the Park and its history so we had some useful conversations."

Gill James on today's Spring Walk - "We had a lovely walk today with 15 attendees. There was lots to talk about, Richard came armed with lots of laminated illustrations, and we finished off with an enjoyable chat with refreshments at the Tea Hut. We even made a new member and sold a book. "
