Our profession and education system is being undermined — schools and the staff who train tomorrow’s workforce lack investment and are chronically underfunded. We in the NEU and Your community are fighting back. Strike ballot starts on 3 October.

The question we hear most often - why do Teachers and Support staff strike? The answer we usually give is we care about our conditions and the learning conditions children experience.A more detailed answer would include Cost of living lack of funding degradation of the profession

The one thing an NEU rep never skips, is speaking to members , daily. walking the shop floor as it used to be called keeps everyone together and stops members feeling like they are on their own. Its not the big showy things that matter, its little incremental chats that builds power in the members.

Strike action from NEU members at Barn croft primary school Monday 22nd and Wednesday 24th and Connaught School for Girls Thursday 25th to 10th July. Making cuts in core subjects and PSHE will not improve the lives of any students. Cutting staff who are the poorest paid will not help this either.
