HAPPY GIRLS' DAY! 😊 March 3rd in Japan is Hinamatsuri. Only in Hawaii do we still call it Girls' Day. 😊 (corrected - mahalo for everyone who caught the typo 😊 lol)

HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR! It’s the Year of the Fire Horse, symbolizing intelligence, independence, & momentum, with added passion from the Fire element. It’s a time to take bold risks, move fast, & pursue growth - "success at a gallop.” Embrace boldness but avoid burnout, impulsiveness & recklessness.

#pungeonsanddragons • Bad puns of Dungeons & Dragons monsters: 010626 • Werewolf •Werewolves are lycanthropes that turn into wolves. Infected ones change involuntarily during the full moon. Those born cursed can control their shifts and infect others.

Mahalo to everyone who bought 4x6” images during my end-of-year & new year sale! It cleared out my inventory, with most returning to regular price. A few old ones will be retired due to low interest. Clearing old stock makes room for new. Thanks for your support! Here's to a great 2026!

Aloha, all! Here's the first Mura-Comix for 2026! 🙂 I usually get Omamori for my car, and we have paper ones posted in our house. This is one of those strips that was extra wordy because of all the information, but I hope you get the idea 😊 Hey! Hope you all have a fantastic New Year!

It's been a long time since I've done a Generation Gap strip! I would post it on Friday, but this joke had to be out by Christmas. I was last-minute shopping at the mall when I heard a kid say this to his parents. I guess he never heard many of the Christmas carols Have a safe and Merry Xmas

Aloha! I redrew a sketch I quickly drew in 2023 that I thought was a funny gag! 😊 Wishing you all a safe and happy holiday season! ^_^

#pungeonsanddragons • Bad puns of Dungeons & Dragons monsters: 122125 • Werebear •Werebears are lycanthropic shapeshifters who can transform into large, hairy, muscular bipedal bears. Their instincts are to protect nature, but they often help travelers and the weak.

Aloha, everyone! Here’s a “Calabash” comic strip I drew that was published in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser several years ago. Not sure if many of you caught this joke - Hawaii has a local version of “The 12 Days of Christmas,” also called “Numbah One Day of Christmas.” Happy Holidays, everyone! 😊

ART VS ARTIST 2025! I’ve been fortunate to do what I love, tho I feel I’ve done less productivity-wise than in years. Mahalo for your support, laughter at my toons, and friendship! Hoping to get back on track in 2026! 🙂 Aloha, have a safe, happy holiday season! ^_^ #artvsartist #artvsartist2025

A cornball mashup I had for a while: Suoer Mario Bros & the Kikaida Bros… ok… moving on… ^_^;

Aloha, all! ^_^ Reposting one of my favorite holiday comic strips I drew. It’s been getting colder here in Hawaii! •Keep smiling everyone and stay safe! Have a great Sunday, all!^_^ #jonjmurakami #comic #snowman #shaveice #hawaii

Surprise commission for @usagi.goya of Inspector Ishida from the comic Usagi Yojimbo by @stansakai ^_^ He hasn’t got a “Clue” #jonjmurakami #usagiyonimbo #stansakai #inspectorishida

A much overdue commission for Patricia Erdely of Donald Duck as Sherlock Holmes and Goofy as Watson and Pluto as the Hound of Baskerville. #donaldduck #goofy #sherlockholmes #jonjmurakami #copic

One more design for the COMIC JAM HAWAII holiday cards for the Kapiolani Women and Childrens Hospital & Shriners Hospitals for Children in Hawaii. Stand that tree up, Derpy 😊

Last night’s COMIC JAM HAWAII Drink & Draw was several members drawing original holiday cards for the Kapiolani Women and Childrens Hospital and Shriners Hospitals for Children in Hawaii. I still have a few more to finish coloring and maybe will do a couple more at the jam on Sunday 😊

ONE MORE THANKSGIVING COMIC STRIP from the archives! :) Happy Thanksgiving, all! ^_^

Every year, I share this: One of my favorite comic strips that I've drawn over the years. I hope everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving! ^_^

#pungeonsanddragons • Bad puns of Dungeons & Dragons monsters: 112125 • Orc • Orcs are a humanoid race with grayish skin, coarse black hair, pig-like faces, often larger than humans. They tend to be aggressive and violent.

Hey, all! TOMORROW! I’ll be at the @mhs.athletics.foundation Holiday Food & Craft Fair • Mililani High School • I’ll be in the cafeteria vending next to Gwen w/ @fuzzys_corner • Sat Nov 22 • 9:00am - 2:00pm • Hope to see you there! ^_^

A lot of people are wondering what happened to the “golfball” radar in Pearl Harbor. I drew this sketch 10 years ago explaining it - lol ^_^

COMIC JAM HAWAII Drink & Draw was Marvel vs DC comics to celebrate the crossovers currently going on (like Batman & Deadpool). We had a randomizer choose the match up. My second sketch: Hulk vs Animal Man ^_^; Lots of fun with @artildawn @gootie29 @banzaiboy

COMIC JAM HAWAII Drink & Draw was Marvel vs DC to celebrate crossovers like Batman & Deadpool. We used a randomizer for matchups; I got Raven vs Storm. Unable to think of something funny, I added Pokémon resembling them: Corviknight & Pikachu. ^_^;

#pungeonsanddragons • Bad puns of Dungeons & Dragons monsters: 111525 • Shambling Mound • A shambling mound was a large, animated plant with predatory tendencies. It was also called a shambler.

HEY, A NEW COMIC STRIP! Is it "Mura-Comix" or "Adventure with Zori"? (or maybe both!) 😊 Our cat, Zori, explores new spots after we tented the house for termites. Why is there a cement mixer here? Or should I ask, “Why don’t you have one?” 😊 Anyway, I knew this silly story had to be told!

#pungeonsanddragons • Bad puns of Dungeons & Dragons monsters: 111325 • Pegasus • Pegasi resembled horses with large, bird-like wings, feathered lower legs, manes, and tails. •Yup, that’s me! Imagine how much I would weigh wearing full armor 😊

One more piece from tonight’s Back to the Future 40th anniversary COMIC JAM HAWAII Drink & Draw! Rick & Morty was originally called Doc & Marty but had to be changed for obvious reasons. Also check out @artildawn @gootie29 @banzaiboy for their work.

Tonight’s COMIC JAM HAWAII Drink & Draw was Back to the Future celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year! I found a drawing I started last year and finally came up with a gag and colored it. 😊 (Hawaiian Time is a casual attitude for punctuality. Usually showing up late)

Had to rush a quick sketch because it's Sesame Street's 56th birthday today! I’ve had this pun for a while! I grew up watching a lot of Sesame Street as a kid! Happy 56th anniversary @sesamestreet for educating children for over half a century ^_^
