How can archaeology play a part in our natural environment?🌳 In next week's talk, Nick will explain how the past can power a wilder future: from ancient environments that guide today’s habitats, to wildlife at historic sites & stories that inspire new ways to care for our world

Summer might be over, but we’ve got something to dig into this autumn… Our FREE pop-up museum will be heading along the Eden Valley, bringing archaeology uncovered during the A66 project to communities along the route. Discover artefacts | Hands-on interactive displays | For all ages 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Archaeology is full of surprises: this Palaeolithic handaxe was found in a Roman ditch... Was it accidentally redeposited or was this Roman artefact collectors? Either way it adds to evidence for thousands of years of human activity & adds to nearby Palaeolithic assemblage from Norton Fitzwarren.

Happy International Dog Day! 🐩🐕🐕‍🦺 From guard dogs to good dogs, humans have had a special relationship with our canine friends for a long, long time. This brick, which appears to show a chase in pursuit, shows that dogs and cats have also had a (not quite as cuddly) relationship over the centuries.

What if archaeology could help tackle biodiversity loss? 🌱🏺 However the Government's Biodiversity Net Gain Scheme doesn't always consider the historic environment. Nick Overton takes us through how the past can build a better present and future: tr.ee/Better-BiodiversityNetGain
