HT: NSH 1-0 MTY A fairly dominant half for NSH, even though they didn't have a lot of the ball. Secure at the back as well. Considering the rotation, this is pretty positive. Surprised Reyados didn't push harder until late in the half, we'll see more of that in the 2nd.

Reed Baker-Whiting puts the ball in the back of the net, but a handball is called on the fullback. ,decision decsion, but very unfortunate; not many places he can put his arm in that situation.

Just got confirmation: it is the second-fastest goal in Leagues Cup history. Alonso Martínez scored for NYCFC in 14 seconds against Columbus in the 2024 edition of the tournament.

Mukhtar starting is a bit of a surprise, but he's usually good enough physically to play a few times a week. RBW and Muyl the only others looking to also start Saturday. I am fine with this rotation, still enough to put up a good fight and get a result. Should be an open game!

FT: NSH 0-1 LEO With limited chances both ways. I don't think either team deserved the win, but ultimately Leon capitalized on a Nashville mistake to score the only goal. This is probably it for Nashville's LC campaign; even if they get six points, that will probably not be good enough.

Goal Leon Nashville caught pressing up high. Maher's tackle goes straight to Santos, who passes to Arcila for the finish. Really unfortunate for Nashville, they've looked the better team this half.

HT: NSH 0-0 LEO For a full rotation, NSH looked pretty good. Only one major mistake in defense, and Williams was able to save the day. Getting closer in attack, Saad and RBW have been great on the left. Not much from the right side. Ref is letting A LOT go—pretty dangerous.

This is a very physical and chippy game. A lot of flying tackles, and now players are getting into it with each other. Only one yellow per team, but honestly, there could've been like three more.

Thomas Williams with one of the best goal-line clearances you'll ever see. Impressive stuff. ,He has been taking a lot of risks on and off the ball and clearly wants to prove himself. Needs to be careful though; he's already on a yellow. #EveryoeN

A great point by @mattdoyle.bsky.social (subscribe: TacticsFreeZone). It's directly related to Yazbek. Eddi is coming back from injury, & he isn't the cleanest on the ball anyway. Corcoran has the pass, but still needs to develop in other areas. Acosta/Brunet are not every-game starters.
