Yesterday I went to see Picasso’s Guernica - paid €0. This evening I sat out on Plaza Mayor in the middle of Madrid on a warm September evening listening to Zadie Smith - paid €0. Spain is very good at making culture accessible to everybody, not just the wealthy.

That chart on time spent at home since 2003 is terrifying! I imagine there was some degree of reversion after 2022 but the figures are still breathtaking. That simply cannot be positive for society as a whole
