maybe my fav episode of The Battler yet: we talk to my literary idol @micwink.bsky.social about writing, life, and his new (brilliant) novel, Griefdogg. Get it in ya!
Publication Day! It is such a great honour to be published by A Strange Object/Deep Vellum @deepvellum.bsky.social. I still can't quite believe it! 🤗

At fourteen I decided I would be as hard as a stone and burn as bright as the sun. At fourteen. Australian writer Erin Vincent remembers being fourteen with a sucker punch to the gut intensity that…

One of the best books I read last year.
In a recent episode of the podcast The Mookse and the Gripes I referred to Hélène Bessette’s outstanding novel Lili is Crying (1953) as “Clarice Lispector on acid, Hilda Hilst on mushrooms, and Ann Quin on molly.” 👀 If you enjoy experimental literature, don’t miss this one.
This has made my night. Not only did NancyKay pre-order to the US and sent me a pic of the book looking out over the Chelsea neighbourhood of Manhattan (!!!!) , she came to my London gig at the start of a UK trip, straight off the plane that morning; so this is a lovely way to bring it full circle.
@stuhennigan.bsky.social justice finished your novel. Extraordinary writing, especially about the childhood and college experiences, & depression. The end has done me in. Wasn’t expecting that. Well done, Stu. #booksky
Finally got a copy of Griefdogg by the wonderful @micwink.bsky.social. Now, husband Adam and I are fighting over who gets to read it first! 😲
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of speaking with the wonderful Fran Kelly for The Radio National Hour. www.abc.net.au/listen/progr...

Since you’re all enjoying this, please allow me to plug my book, LIKE A CAT LOVES A BIRD: THE NINE LIVES OF MURIEL SPARK (out 9th April). It has bugger all to do with Liza - or mini Battenbergs, for that matter - but it’s a hoot all the same. lnk.to/LikeaCatLove...

I love finding books I want to read here on Bluesky. And when I clicked to their website to pre-order, I found that my favorite @moonpalacebooks.bsky.social already has Erin Vincent's *Fourteen Ways of Looking* on order. The book releases here in the US on 7 April.

Excellent book mail to end the week. Dual language edition of Juan Ramón Jiménez's Eternities from Bitter Oleander Press and 14 Ways of Looking by @erinvincent.bsky.social ordered from the UK not only because @cbeditions.bsky.social rocks but the Canadian release is hardcover at $35 CDN (from M&S).
With Erin Vincent’s astonishing Fourteen Ways of Looking (@erinvincent.bsky.social @deepvellum.bsky.social) still echoing in my mind, I open the book by Marguerite Duras at page fourteen: “It’s the call that is hurled down the abyss”
Read this (FOURTEEN WAYS OF LOOKING by @erinvincent.bsky.social) in one sitting last night. Absolutely tremendous book. Invents a new genre (biblionumeromancy?) while powerfully investigating grief and randomness and weird resonances across art and life. Couldn't recommend it more highly.
In an hour, I'll be talking to the one-and-only @bschillace.brandyschillace.com in the USA about my new philosophy book, IMMORTAL GESTURES. The @peculiarbookclub.bsky.social conversation will be free on YouTube at the link below. 10am AEDT in Australia, 7pm ET in the USA.
There will be plenty of finger pointing with Damon Young and Immortal Gestures
