PSA to all the artists who keep posting all their old comics over and over: Keep doing that, even if I've seen it already I love to see it again

Gamers: I hate DLC, it feels like they just cut content from the game and sold it separately. I wish they didn't even make it. *Monkey's paw curls* Okay now instead of working on DLC, the dev team just gets fired.

Hot take: Indie game devs should announce when their games are on sale as they do, but also should announce when their games are OFF sale, so people who want to support more can buy at full price.

At this point if I have to look for game assets, I can't even look for them saying they didn't use AI because some people just lie. I have to look for open hostility to AI and them wanting to make sure I'm not using AI to think it's safe.

I had a person IN REAL LIFE, while telling me I was the biggest AI hater he knows, ask me what kind of phone I use and then go I bet there's lots of AI in there. Yeah dude, I disabled it wherever I could, but I'm not buying a whole new phone just to not have AI. My next phone, probably.

Ah yes, the age old "Yet you live in a society" attack. Yes, I use a phone that is chock full of AI, no that does not mean I "use AI" and certainly not in place of actual writing.

EA being bought by Saudi Arabia is sad, but EA has been dead forever. The last straw for me was no longer having cool voice intros. E A Sports, It's in the game EA Games, challenge everything (the whisper gave me chills) EA sports, BIG It does sadden me just how no fun AAA companies are now.

Every time I post about systems or tutorials, I always get people telling me oh just have them do actions because nobody will read anything. My guy, it is a TCG. If they don't read words, they literally cannot play the game. The game is made of words and rules, you HAVE to look at them.

My mom tried the tutorial on my game and I suddenly understand why games hold your hand and explain every little tiny detail in the tutorial. Her: What do I do? Me: It just told you in a message to play this card, and the card is blinking while everything else on the screen is grayed out.

I hate seeing the trending topics because every time I see them it's like "people in charge of Bluesky feel bad they created a safe haven for non evil people, want to immediately recruit Nazis."

I am beginning to think that the people we hire here at the "make life worse for everyone" factory are only working here because we pay them.

Its embarrassing how many grown ass adults live in these fantasies where people work for some nonsense like the artificial cultures oligarchs manufacture over survival.

My cat is thoroughly investigating all food now that my mom gave him some chicken she was eating. I'm a vegetarian, so he's used to any food I have being inedible. But now he must triple check it all.

Here is my progress on the Megaman X style stage select screen that honestly just ended up being a bunch of memes anyway. My indie game dev process is: 1 make screen, 2 cram with bad jokes and references.

I know people don't like calling certain genres of game slop, but my game is absolutely Y2K slop.

My handhelds and their use cases: Switch 2 and Steam Deck: in bed mostly, a pain to travel with. AYN Thor and Analogue Pocket: bed and travel, great for planes Screen modded GBA SP: when I actually need something really pocketable for things like waiting at a doctor's office

My mom, playing Pokopia which she has probably played for 30 hours by now: I can't go straight. It feels like everything is backwards. Did you invent the Y axis again? Me looking over: mom, look at the controller. She was holding the controller upside down.

Y'all it's so easy. All we need to do to fix the game industry is have games with millions of dollars of start up money, or games that hit the lottery. Just hit the lottery more guys, it's easy. Or be rich already and make a game.

So I have this alarm clock that has for years gone off at the same time every day, but it appears to be broken. The past two days it didn't go off at all. It usually makes noise nonstop until I get up and put meat in a bowl on the ground, but I don't know why it isn't. How to fix my alarm clock???

My game is basically like, half Easter eggs so far. Just a bit more, and I could have not had to make a game at all. Just Easter eggs, with the most barebones game I can make. You just have to click around and discover Easter eggs. Hold on, I just invented some point and click adventures, didn't I?

I would 100% put something like this on my game's Steam page in the awards section.

I didn't post this until now because it was sent to spam, but my game was selected for the cat awareness sale by @devcatsgames.bsky.social Why, you might ask? Well there is a cat card in every color, but mostly because my cat is in charge of development and you see him every time you open the game

Indie game dev tip: hang out with your mom. I haven't posted much the past few days because my mom has been visiting. But it is clear that my mom visiting is having a magical effect on the wishlist numbers for my game. A big spike in wishlists with me doing nothing, as SOON as she arrived.

The other day I woke up at 3 am on accident, and fell asleep really well early. What did my mom who is visiting do? She played Pokopia for over 5 hours, staying up past midnight because she couldn't stop playing. I love when my mom visits. We get high play video games and watch anime.

Do you think I should market the very advanced enemy behavior, or leave that as a surprise for players? I don't think it would draw many people to the game if I tried to sell it. But I think if they weren't expecting it and the AI pulled something, it would create an impactful and memorable moment.

My mom and I saw the Odyssey yesterday. The biggest thing I can say about it is, despite the extreme length, it kept my attention and I didn't want to get up at all Usually I lose interest or focus in 3 hour long movies. I don't think I'll remember anything about this one, but it had my attention

In keeping with my morning fixation on tube men, and my making silly tiles for an empty space on one of my game screens, I made this image saying "Are you tube MAN enough?" It is maybe the greatest piece of art I have ever created.
