I’ve made up my mind to take another social media detox/vacation. I’ll be back on January 15. Hope all my moots and followers have a great season. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. See ya in 2025.
My canary has the ultimate grindset. Little man wakes up at 8:30, eats, has a bath, and alternates between interval training (flying is a super hard workout) and staring out the window & yelling at other birds. He’s on his sleep perch by 4:00PM and asleep by 5. Got life all figured out.
One more bunch of old #art. First couple pages were from a comic about some ghosts, 2017 iirc. The fourth image is a handful of expressions from a character that I was writing around 15 years ago when I was still in high school.
More old #art. Also from 2020. I don’t think my previous scans were all that good, I’m thinking I could do a better job if I scanned and cleaned them again.
Digging through boxes of older #art. These are from 2020 and, idk, they look better than I remember.
I wound up writing a rambling meditation on one of my fiction projects over on my tumblr blog. I've been meaning to use it as a home for more long-form text posts that won't work elsewhere, as well as sharing art. tinyurl.com/yc2wttjv #art #writing #fiction #inspiration #Ihatehashtagstheypissmeoff

Not dead, just busy. Mostly been working on writing and planning, and the odd hasty sketch. Ah, but I have to post something, so here’s this. Top right text is song lyrics from “Veneficium” by Lacun…

Combing back through older drawings. This is some goofy fanart I drew up the day after the Smash Bros. Kazuya trailer. Two of my favourite vidya heroes made it into Smash... as Mii costumes. Still a cool moment, even if it was a consolation prize. #art #smashbros #Shantae #Devilmaycry
Went for a lot of rage and intensity, and might have overshot it. The hell with it, it stays in. When this fan comic is finally done, I'll be knuckling down on working on a creator-owned project to try and get off the ground. But the temptation of doing another fan project is creeping into my mind.
Writing my current story feels less like I’m, well, writing a story, and more like I’m playing a trick on my eventual audience. A performance of literary legerdemain. Not that I’m trying to deceive them outright, rather I’m leading them to sympathize with a character they should hate.
I've been overthinking my first post and procrastinating making this account for a long time. My name's Jody. I'm an amateur illustrator from Vancouver Island (Canada). I've sketched as a hobby for a long time, and am taking my best honest shot at getting good enough to make it my profession.
