Do your part to support a homebrew podcaster who put a chart chat together despite sweating every necessary mineral out of their body this weekend. Please listen, comment, and share with a friend 😁💉

Episode 458 is up! Andy talks about driving an hour & a half to buy a record & plays clips of Fontaines D.C. at an airport & a comedian buying a sexually explicit Danzig shirt. Finished Bread of Angels by Patti Smith. A memoir detailing Patti’s early years, becoming a musician, recording her iconic albums, & touring the world. The book also covers the loss of people she loved, discovering her passion for writing, & learning who her true father was via DNA tests. Excellent.

The new Rachel’s Chart Chat: you’re gonna love it in a Twin-stant! 👯‍♂️👯‍♀️ Twin Spins from groups you (maybe) didn’t know had twin siblings in ‘em.

Episode 457 is up! Andy talks about Selena (1997), Cronos from Venom, and an idea to save Wendy's. We also listen to clips of Michael McDonald & Tommy Wiseau. On Rachel's Chart Chat, Rachel from Des Moines (@therachel.bsky.social) looks at twin spins, artists who charted that had twins in the band.

I’ve followed Andy’s work since my ArchiePGH days on twitter. It’s inspiring to see his joy in creating and collaborating. Pick this one up, as well as the others!

Front and back cover of the novel Night Work by Andy Mascola. Cover art created by Jesse and Josh Seybert. The back cover reads “An affair. An execution. A masterpiece painted in blood.
For our narrator, sleeping with a married woman was his greatest sin. But that guilt is instantly shattered when he watches an eccentric, sword-wielding prince drop from the sky and slash his lover's throat in broad daylight.
The protagonist is quickly pulled into the dangerous, oddly charming orbit of this regal serial killer. The trail leads to Ginger Hill, a secluded mansion ruled by the prince's mother, a small crew of loyal servants, a robot nurse, and decades of monstrous, clandestine deviancy.
An elegant, insidious artist, the prince uses headless corpses for creative inspiration. But his dark muse is threatened when a new romance sparks a desire to turn his violent fixations into something peaceable. As stolen jewels, missing bodies, and whispered confessions collide, a hardened bail bondswoman, a depressed writer, and a determined henchman are dragged into the madness.
Our narrator must decide whether the prince's devotion is proof of something transcendent, or the most seductive lie of all.
Night Work is a darkly comedic, grotesquely romantic thriller about lust mistaken for love, and love sharpened until it cuts.”
