sorry to say it out loud but "you can buy grand theft auto the coke simulator with a credit card but don't use it to commission furry art" isn't hypocrisy, it's the point. the point is to herd you into consumption of products they like. they want you to directly enrich their own.

Monroe's Lithuanian! I've written lots of silly lore for these two that I'll probably never share, like Monroe's MMA career and Maxine's goofy relationship with her dad and who they were before meeting each other It's less for building a narrative and more for me to keep their humanity centered

Working on a palette feels like wrestling an alligator. It's not an elegant process for me at all. I just start from a general orientation (e.g., "this piece will lean magenta" or "the darks will fall twd purple") and work with the assurance that as long as the values are good, it'll look all right.

It's a toss up between ezogelin--a Turkish lentil soup--and tofu niangao--a rice cake noodle soup that was a local specialty of the city I worked in when I lived in China (picture unrelated)

Comics are so fucking hard 😭 I make it even harder on myself sometimes by getting lost in preparatory work in the early stages, like endlessly tweaking character designs and collecting reference. But I've written the full 150+ page script and it's just a matter of drawing it out! 🙃
