💧 The #C3S Climate Bulletin reports drier-than-average conditions across large regions of central & eastern Europe in August. River flows were largely below average across the dry regions, with conditions worsening in central and eastern Europe compared with July. ⬇️

❄ In August, Arctic sea ice extent was 9.2% below 1991–2020 average, ranking 12th lowest for August in the 48-year satellite record. Antarctic sea ice extent was 6.5% below average, the fourth-lowest August extent. The four lowest August extents have all occurred since 2023. ⬇️

🌡 August #C3S Climate Bulletin reports that August was the joint-warmest month on record & 1.65°C above the estimated pre-industrial level. Western Europe saw its warmest summer on record, while the average sea surface temperature across the extra-polar ocean was also the joint highest on record. ⬇️
