In the Mario Teaches Typing games, Mario never criticizes the player for underperforming and tries to be understanding and supportive. According to Charles Martinet, that was his initiative, as he felt being negative would go against the core principles of Mario's character.

In the Mario Teaches Typing games, even if the player does badly or underperforms compared to previous attempts, Mario will try to be understanding instead of critical:
Uh-oh, that wasn't quite as fast as the last time.
Hmm, are your fingers getting tired? Mine would be by now... if I had any. (laughs)
Charles Martinet, speaking at TooManyGames Convention 2021:
I got this marvelous opportunity to do Mario Teaches Typing. And when I got the script and I'm in the studio - I'm reading the script for the first time, there were things like "You failed!"
"That wasn't very good." "That was much worse... that was bad."
And I was reading that and I said, "Do you mind if I just, like, play with these words a little bit and just change them around?" because, you know, I never say "no" and I never say anything negative as Mario... and the producer graciously said "Sure, go for it!"
And so it became "Oh, that was good, but I know you can do even better!" "Oh, nice one but let's try again!" so it was always uplifting and always trying to be positive. And I think that that is the essence of the character to me - it's that love and that joy.

Metroid dread is so good, I got it for my birthday and I’ve been playing it on and off for a bit and it’s just so fun, I want to keep playing more of it

Many games for the GameCube use only a fraction of the storage capacity of the disc. I have analyzed the data to determine what the maximum number of retail Mario games that can fit on a single disc would be, creating the Luigi & Wario + Puzzle + Rhythm Maximum Value Pack.

A GameCube disc has a storage capacity of 1.46 gigabytes. Many Mario games use only a fraction of that storage. Below is the optimal distribution of the smallest Mario-related games on the system to fit 6 entire retail games on a single disc.
Unused space 54 MB
Luigi's Mansion 186 MB
DDR Mario Mix 264 MB
Wario World 257 MB
Donkey Konga 2 312 MB
Donkey Konga 250 MB
Please note that this pie chart is for data visualization only. If the games were in fact put on one disc, the data would be arranged in rings, not in slices.

im seeing a lot of friends and other people do this trend, so i figured id try my hand at it. 9 games that definitely helped shape who i am. this list was really hard to make but i think i ended up with a pretty solid list for myself!

That "My 9 Games" website.

The 9 Games that I chose for my list (in order from left to right, top to bottom) are:
- Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove
- Fantasy Life
- Animal Crossing: New Leaf
- Rivals of Aether
- Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
- WarioWare D.I.Y.
- Drancia Saga
- Kirby Air Ride
- Sonic Adventure 2: Battle

was working on this for a bit but i now also finally mastered Super Mario Sunshine on RetroAchievements! this one was quite the beefy set with a lot of achievements that was a combo of grindy but also interesting objectives.

A screenshot displaying my mastery of all of Super Mario Sunshine's RetroAchievements. All 148 RetroAchevements were obtained in Hardcore Mode (so no savestates / cheats).

had one more in me before i get a bit busy with other stuff. ended up Mastering another RetroAchievement set, this time for Sonic Riders! one of my all-time favorite games ever and this set was pretty fun (minus the massive ring grind to unlock all the Extreme Gears lol). was fun replaying this game

i should make like one of those website thingies where you just put like all your social links and whatnot either strawpage or a carrd. one of those two. that'll be on my bucket list of things to eventually get done

had some more time this weekend and ended up finishing up another RetroAchievement set for Sonic Rush Adventure (one of my favorite Sonic games). had a lot of fun replaying this game again and fully completing it again. had a bit of a grind for one achievement but it was worth it

ended up doing another retroachievement set today/yesterday, found myself mastering Pepsiman (PS1). this is certainly the game of all time. had some fun with this one

ive been playing a lot of super monkey ball 2 on and off for retroachievements and ive made a very good chunk of progress towards getting all of these. the plan is to eventually earn all of them but thats a long term goal since most of the remaining ones are pretty hard lol

An image showcasing all of the RetroAchievements I've earned in Super Monkey Ball 2. Currently, I have 122/158 RetroAchievements achieved.

did some more binging and playing monkey ball 2 (mainly because i felt like getting more RetroAchievements) and finally managed to beat Master difficulty! ive never actually gotten to this point when playing this game ever. now to get up to and beat Master Extra...

The "Clock Face Cracked" RetroAchievement for Super Monkey Ball 2, which is awarded for completing Master in Challenge Mode.

over this weekend i decided to go for some RetroAchievements since i was a bit bored and went with a game that ive played briefly before and could have fun with multiple hours later, i have achieved my first RetroAchievements mastery in LEGO Racers (N64)! fun time to play this game

what started as a steam purchase as my backup game for an Archipelago that an irl invited me to join him in turned into me playing the game through after i finished the Archipelago run and eventually devolved into a full 100% completion run never actually 100%ed this game before, had a blast!

A screenshot of the Emblem Results screen from Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (the Steam release). It shows 180 out of 180 Emblems have been collected, with a total time elapsed of 22:32:21.

I've never actually fully 100% completed Sonic Adventure 2 in my life, even with my childhood copy of the game. It was honestly a blast to fully complete this game and I learned a lot of new things about it that I didn't know before doing this playthrough.

how it feels knowing I bought Sonic Adventure 2 on steam yesterday for doing stuff with someone else before seeing the Sonic sale on steam and seeing I coulda got it for like half price 😔😔😔😔😔😔😔 but eh it’s fine now I can see I can get Sonic mania for 2 dollar ⁉️⁉️⁉️ what a steal

And so… the Ocarina of Time. 🔥📝 (played through to the ending and now finished. Happy I played this game through after starting it like a month ago, very awesome game)

“THE END” screen from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D on the Nintendo 3DS.My total playtime of OoT 3D, totaling to about 23 hours and 49 minutes. I didn’t do Master Quest tho. I started on May 11th of this year and ended on June 10th of this year.

anyways this evening I finally beat every single deck in Balatro on Gold Stake (the highest difficulty). this certainly took a while but now it’s Done. woohoo!

I’ve been playing a lot of Ocarina of Time the past few days and I’ve been having a blast with it. although one thing I keep getting whiplash from is hearing the music because I’ve heard all these tunes before in so many other places it’s weird hearing where they’re from originally lol
