Seems the tech CEOs are acting scared of AI to distract from all the investor capital they've blown, then to write regulations themselves/get nationalized and bailed out, likely before the midterms... ...except Trump is too thick to get the hint, so he just defaults to "me STRONG regulations BAD".

underrated part of El-Sayed’s messaging strategy seems to be shaming journalists who ask dumb questions that play into right-wing frames. you can’t answer these in a way that satisfies them, but you can make it embarrassing enough that you impose a toll on asking.

This show is such a perfect slice of made for 70’s TV episodic horror. Clever and spooky and paced like a warm bath, it was a clear influence on The X-Files over a decade later. Worth revisiting!
