I still think there should be a Tubi Basement to directly compete with the Criterion Closet. It's just cardboard boxes full of tapes. There's some water damage and rat poop. Some of the tapes are just dubs of rentals or recordings from HBO in SLP mode.

TIL the *series finale* of that incredibly dumb 80s sitcom WEBSTER was also a crossover episode with STAR TREK THE NEXT GENERATION. I watched about 60 seconds of it. Serious “Star Wars Holiday Special” vibes.

Was going over scripts to draw comics for MY BULLSHIT #3 and found one for an animated short. I haven't really animated ANYTHING in 15 years. My animation software skills are ancient. But it's a really funny script. And I have Flash 5 (!) installed on my kids old PC laptop. It's tempting.

Awards are ultimately meaningless but they are a great way to bring the community together and show support to the artists you love and to hate-vote against the artists who are your sworn enemies.

Realized I've really only drawn 7 long-form graphic novels: Dirt Candy, Action Presidents 1-4, The Comic Book History of Animation and Growing Up Farley. Everything else has either been a compilation or collection or shorter works. Animation did get single issues but it was originally one long work.

I get rid of the ones that are shit or I'm bored of and know I will never read or look at ever again. I also give a lot away to friends and visitors. But they are still everywhere in every room. All shelves are bursting. Keeping them organized but is an endless, losing battle. Short answer: CHAOS

I got into comics when I moved to Hong Kong when I was 12- where I couldn't play baseball or ride my mini-bike (my primary interests) and English language movies & tv were rare. The first friend I made owned a ton of X-Men comics, and I started buying my own at the one American newstand downtown.

As a young Dislexic kid, comics were my gateway into reading. Worlds of endless imagination & emotional /literary education, were finally accessible. Every comic fan has a different story. ❤️
