This photo shows a desert landscape at golden hour, with a range of rugged reddish-orange cliffs and mountains glowing in the warm sunlight. The sky above is a soft blue, streaked with thin, wispy white and gray clouds. In the fore and midground, dense silvery-gray Rubber Rabbitbrush with clusters of bright yellow flowers and other desert shrubs cover the rolling, rocky terrain. A gravel area can be seen in the lower right corner, and scattered darker green bushes and small trees appear farther back toward the base of the mountains.

The Stanley Hotel 👻 Estes Park, Colorado #BlueSkyArtShow #Spooky #Photography #Travel #GhostStories #Colorado #StephenKing #TheShining #ClassicMono #EastCoastKin #WestCoastKin #Halloween #HauntedPlaces #Paranormal

The Stanley has long been considered haunted by many visitors and staff. Among other reports, guests and employees tell of hearing children’s laughter on the fourth floor, piano music playing by itself in the ballroom, and the spirit of former chambermaid Elizabeth Wilson.

In 1974, Stephen King and his wife were the only overnight guests as the hotel prepared to close for the winter. They stayed in Room 217. That night King dreamed his young son was being chased through the empty corridors by a living fire hose. He woke with a jolt, lit a cigarette, and sat looking out at the Rockies. By the time the cigarette was finished, he already had the basic outline of The Shining in his mind. The Stanley became the real-life inspiration for the Overlook Hotel in the novel, even though the exterior shots in Stanley Kubrick’s 1980 film were filmed at Timberline Lodge in Oregon.

Visual description

This photo captures the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado, in black-and-white. A grand, multi-story white Colonial Revival building stretches across the frame under a heavy, dramatic sky of swirling gray clouds. Its dark roof is dotted with dormer windows, and a distinctive cupola with a spire rises near the center. A long covered porch runs along the front, lined with American flags that hang silently in the still air. In the foreground, a grassy slope leads up to a parking area filled with cars, while dark silhouettes of trees and brush frame the left and right sides of the image.

CRYSTAL LAKE Coming October 15th To Peacock! 🪓 * All 8 episodes drop the 15th! * 👀 READ MORE IN ALT TEXT 🎥 #FridayThe13th #CrystalLake #HorrorCommunity #A24 #JasonVoorhees #HorrorFans #PrequelSeries #October

In the upcoming Friday the 13th series, Callum Vinson (Chucky, Long Bright River, The Night Agent) stars as a young Jason Voorhees and Linda Cardellini (Scooby-Doo, Dead to Me, DTF St. Louis) stars as Pamela Voorhees.

Storyline / What to expect:

Instead of Jason drowning back in 1957 like in the original movie, the series moves his drowning to 1971. With the main story set in 1972, viewers get to experience the immediate, raw aftermath of his tragic accident. This compressed timeline lets the prequel focus on both a living Jason in flashbacks and a grieving Pamela Voorhees in the present day.
