Trying to restrain myself from immediately descending into ugly bawling sentimentality. Some month! But it’s an honour. I couldn’t be happier at the idea that my stuff might appeal to writers and readers from my own homeplace. I’m grateful to judges, organisers, dream publisher Carcanet, all.
