We have some disappointing news. Unfortunately, Baylands Nature Preserve parkrun will not be able to continue operating. Planned construction in the area means the landowner can’t guarantee a safe and consistent course going forward. Read more here: www.parkrun.us/baylandsnatu...

Baylands Nature Preserve parkrun is one of many worldwide free, fun, and friendly 5k community events that takes place every week

IMPORTANT REMINDER: There is no Baylands Nature Preserve parkrun event tomorrow, December 20th, or the following Saturdays, the 27th. We are working to bring events back next year. Mace Ranch parkrun is a fine alternative. www.parkrun.us/maceranch/

Very well said.

To all parkrunners across Australia as you prepare for Saturday: be kind to one another, look out for those around you, and take strength from the simple act of coming together. Walk, jog, run, volunteer whatever feels right knowing that community, compassion & care are at the very heart of parkrun.

We’re sorry to share that due to operational issues , Sunset Dunes and Baylands Nature Preserve parkruns will need to pause until at least 17 January. We understand how important these events are to our community, and we appreciate your patience and support.

With both Baylands Nature Preserve and Sunset Dunes parkruns cancelled this weekend, it's worth considering a trip to Davis for the Mace Ranch parkrun. (Similar to Baylands, it's a single out-and-back and spends some time along a golf course.) www.parkrun.us/maceranch/

IMPORTANT: Due to conflicts with two other events being held in the park this Saturday, the 13th, we have been asked to cancel our event for this weekend. The next event for us will be on the 20th, and in addition to the planned Ugly Sweater event, we will also hold the Holiday Cookie Swap that day.

Many photos from our 13th event are now available on our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/Baylandsnatu...

Our 13th event was cold and overcast, but still was filled with enthusiastic participants and volunteers! And a couple 100 finish milestones!

As we sprint towards the end of 2025, here is a graphic with a wrap up of our November events (six of them!).

With the opening of the new Sunset Dunes parkrun, we had by far our smallest turnout ever at event 12, 109 finishers. (The cold wind also likely kept a few people away.) Weirdly, we had no milestones and nobody saying they were from England - both firsts!

Lots of photos from our Thanksgiving Day event 11 are now available on our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/Baylandsnatu...

It was cold this morning! (Not Canada cold, but for us, really cold!) The best way to stay warm turned out to be to finish a 5K.

As a surprise, like the last two weeks, the close (dirt) lots are going to be closed tomorrow. This means our parking once again will be at the boat dock lots and on Embarcadero Rd. Please arrive early and pay attention to the volunteers! www.parkrun.us/baylandsnatu...

Fun reminders: • We have the only parkrun in California on Thursday! Enjoy the likely sunshine and make room for all that food coming later! • Saturday is the inaugural event for the new Sunset Dunes parkrun! See www.parkrun.us/baylandsnatu... for more info.

Pictures from our tenth event are now up on our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/Baylandsnatu...

The sunshine helped the tutus really sparkle at our tenth event! And we had our 2,000th finish!

In spite of the rainy week we've had, it looks like Saturday is going to be perfect for our first ever Tutu Day! (Well, not counting parking issues.) Wear your favorite tutu or borrow one of ours (arrive early for best selection)!

Like last weekend, we have parking restrictions this Saturday! The close (dirt) lots are closed so you really need to arrive early. Please pay attention to the signs and marshals and don't park in lots that are off-limits. www.parkrun.us/baylandsnatu...

A break in the rainy weather resulted in a record 250 finishers and an amazing number of milestones for our ninth event! (It's fun that next week will be our tenth event, but WAY more fun that it will be Tutu Day!)

As a bonus this Saturday, the park is running their monthly volunteer day in the morning from 9am to noon at the Sail Station (boat dock) parking lot. Please consider staying and helping improve the park! Time is spent pulling invasive plants and picking up trash.

A fine, sunny day was the prefect time to break in a brand new Run Director! Way to go Aidan!

EXCITING NEWS!!! On November 29th, a new Bay Area parkrun is starting up in San Francisco! Introducing Sunset Dunes parkrun! www.parkrun.us/sunsetdunes/

Many photos from our seventh event are now available on our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/Baylandsnatu...

A sunny but cool day for our 7th event! Some milestones and the introduction of our official pop-out banner made for a lot of fun!

MANY fun photos from our Halloween-infested sixth event are now available on our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/Baylandsnatu...

For the end of our first full month of events, here is a general wrap up of a few stats and all of the milestones.

A record turnout for our 6th event, this one with a Halloween theme and picnic! (And new parking procedures, which you all aced big time!)

Due to safety and weather concerns, the parking requirements of our permit have changed. Starting October 25th, we’ll be filling the lots at the boat dock first, followed by the dirt lots. www.parkrun.us/baylandsnatu...
