Regarding the news I mentioned earlier this week... TL;DR My cat, Misty, isn't doing well and my hiatus will be extended to figure out what we can do for her. ๐Ÿฅบ I allowed comments here, but I probably won't respond. Thanks everyone, please pet and hug your pets for me if you have one ๐Ÿ’š

Cross-posted from Discord: Content warning: animal disease. Hello housekeepers, this is very difficult for me to say, but Misty isn't doing well lately. She was diagnosed with chronic kidney failure three years ago and we have been making changes to her diet and lifestyleโ€”she was doing pretty well, all things considered! Unfortunately, her health has taken a turn for the worse recently so we did a senior profile at the vet. During the urine draw, they found a mass in her bladder which is most likely causing her recent issues with urinating. The doctor recommended we see a kidney specialist about it. The bloodwork also showed even more elevated levels in calcium and phosphorus, among other things... so the doctor has also recommended supplements to help maintain those levels from rising any further. We are still deciding what we want to do... and there is the question if we can do anything at all if it turns out the mass in her bladder is cancerous. I'll be making appointments and trying the medication to see if Misty improves at all. This news has been incredibly difficult and heartbreaking as Misty has been with me for almost 20 yearsโ€”she's my best friend and savior, to put it lightly. With that said, I don't really want to talk about this outside of this post, so please don't mention this in any of the channels on this server unless I bring it up first. Anyways... that's where we're at and I need more time for my hiatus as we navigate the next few weeks.
