I'm nearly convinced our new build house is haunted. House is only 15 years old and yet seems to have a very naughty ghost in it, one which keeps making noises that wake me up in the night.

It's so weird that people warm to politicians exactly because they give the vibe that they're not politicians, that they have no expertise in politics, that they are not like the others. In no other aspect of life would that be true. "Oh let me book this plumber who knows fuck all about boilers"

so glad everybody is having good viewing experiences of The Odyssey. my screening was semi-feral. People getting up to walk around, apparently getting lost, standing in front of the screen for long periods, etc. Including one guy who couldn't find his way back to his seat and nearly sat in my lap

Love reading the safer spaces guidelines for radical venues and trying to work out their origin stories. For example, one place near me that has the guideline "please refrain from addressing the entire room unless you are hosting an event"

Got to work this morning, noticed my dress was torn under the arm. Said to myself, "that's not so bad, I'll just keep my arm down all day so nobody notices." Which I did. Got home, took it off, planning to repair it: noticed there was also a huge rip on the BACK of the arm, too
