This is the weekly podcast that digs into the entire Tom Petty catalogue song by song, album by album and includes conversations with musicians, fans, and people connected with Tom along the way.

I got another confession to make... my garage door is Foo... (bar) Due to a combination of trying to diagnosis a dead garage door opener, then driving 5 hours to pick up a new one THEN a road trip with my girls to see Dave and the boys live tomorrow, I haven't had time to record this week!

The round of 16 is complete and the matchups for the second half od the draw will be up right away! Black Sabbath made light work of the B-52's and Crosby, Stills & Nash pulled off a minor upset by dispatching the Ramones debut quite comfortably.

Over on Facebook, I'm going to be running a fun little bracket. There have been some monumental self-titled debut albums and we're going to put them head to head in a series of polls to find out which one will come out on top! (I'm thinking I can guess which it will be!)

Howie should have turned 71 today. Thankfully we have his presence all over so many of Tom's records and on so many others. Outside of The Heartbreakers, I think my favourite collaboration of his was John Prine's "The Missing Years", which Howie produced masterfully. RIP Howie. We miss ya!

Today's episode is the first a my "Recovering Petty" series where I look at covers of Tom's songs that take them far away from the original form and into new and interesting waters. The first installment is the superb interpretation of It'll All Work Out by the incomparable Phoebe Bridgers.
