I made my first forest friend in Aotearoa, New Zealand! We did it! We sold our house, our cars, most of our belongings & boarded a one way flight for New Zealand! Rose-breasted Grosbeak, a rare visitor to our backyard. We usually only see them briefly for a day or two during the spring and fall migration. This was my only action shot today and sadly I didn’t zoom out in time. The bird arrived here on the *exact same day* it did last year: April 27.
