We are once again (and always) looking for recommendations! We are especially looking for short to mid-length games by marginalized designers! The longest games we are typically able to cover with the detail that we like are around 60-70 pages, but we prefer shorter for most months.

Is there a TTRPG that you love(d) reading? Whether it's a diegetic game manual to a dead MMORPG or a plaintext .doc with strong evocative language, we here at Tabletop Book Club want to hear about it! On Tabletop Book Club, Barclay & Bee read a new game every month and discuss its writing.

I playtested Nine Space Games a lot and it's one of my favorite games in years. I could go on at length about what I love about it as a game designer. But the layout is maybe my favorite part. Some of the most gorgeous-while-functional layout I've seen in a game. Standing ovation.

I had the pleasure of working on the layout for this amazing set of games by @jmstar.bsky.social. each game is wonderfully unique, and the unique sci-fi setting that binds them is revealed to you the more you play/read. thank you for letting me put my spin on it! bullypulpitgames.com/products/nin...

The photo on the wikipedia page for "pornographic film" is so spectacularly well chosen. Just straight down the middle "yep, that's porn."

I think Star Fleet should have "bleep blorp protocols." Like you walk into a room and say "warning everyone: bleep blorp protocals are in effect" and everyone knows to check if their newfound crush is secretly a Betazoid fever or whatever.

Star Trek is great because one episode it'll be like "one horror of fascism is how it makes regular people complicit in genocide" and the next is like "uh oh don't touch the bleep blorps or they'll turn your spleen to goop!"

Was writing a blogpost recently that needs more time to cook, but part of the deal was talking about old school murder mystery parties. I have vivid memories of being young and playing a boxed murder mystery party, maybe the second rpg I ever played after D&D. But what was it? Texted my dad and-

A photo from 2002 of me (I'm 12 years old), my grandpa, and my cousin with pamphlets for a game called HOW TO HOST A MURDER at a dining room table

Played some Ghost Court last weekend with my 9 and 10 year old nieces, and what I learned is that kids love playing pretend almost as much as they love gavels and wielding authority.

When you think about how many people have ever existed and how long it takes for teeth to decompose, there's gotta be at least like 30 billion human teeth on the planet

Looking for recommendations for art for D&D style fantasy monsters that looks like it was drawn by a 16 year old and/or is in a sketchy/scribbly style, and especially adventure modules with art in this style. Any recs for me?

my husband is doing fantasy baseball for the first time. he does not follow baseball. his team is run entirely by our 10yo neighbor, who gets a split of his winnings if she helps my husband defeat the rest of the league. they’re in 1st place! but now, a problem: today she left for sleepaway camp
