PM Beinir Johannesen co-hosted the Nordic summer meeting, where leaders discussed security, defence policy and how to protect children and young people online. The PM highlighted that the Faroe Islands wish to become an independent and fully equal member of #Nordic cooperation.

In the margins of the Helsingborg foreign ministers’ meeting, 🇫🇴 FM Nielsen met with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, followed by talks with Adm. Pierre Vandier, SACT, on the Faroe Islands’ strategic role and closer cooperation to strengthen security and stability in the High North.

At today’s meeting in Helsingborg 🇫🇴 FM Nielsen joined Nordic, Canadian, and U.S. counterparts to discuss security and defence in the High North. The Faroe Islands continue to support NATO priorities through strengthened surveillance, joint exercises, and increased allied presence.
