Discovered that ActionMailer *_deliver callbacks don't respect only/except options in Rails. Turns out it's a really simple fix because Mailers are Controllers behind the scenes. github.com/rails/rails/...
Support `only:` and `except:` on `_deliver` callbacks in ActionMailer by excid3 · Pull Request #57581 · rails/rails
Motivation / Background only: and except: options are ignored in ActionMailer callbacks when added in #47630. This feels inconsistent so this uses the same normalization wrapper from AbstractContro...

"He did not pick something easy to do." - @excid3.com on Episode 327 of Remote Ruby with Brendan Buckingham discussing @jremsikjr.bsky.social's choices in bringing XO Ruby to life
Shoutout to @marcoroth.dev for Herb. Just fixed a bunch of small typos in our HTML that it found. Browsers are pretty good at fixing these issues automatically, but I'd sure rather be sending correct HTML instead.
Watched a bunch of YouTube to fix the wife's coffee machine and now YouTube thinks I'm _really_ into coffee machines.
Missouri loves company. Good to sit down for a good long chat with Chris Oliver (@excid3.com) in his home town.
When people complain Shopify is too prominent, only main company donor in RC, etc. WTF folks. As if that was their choice! Where are the other companies pushing Ruby and Rails with real money and resources to be on par? Talk is cheap.
I wrote about some of my thoughts on the lessons we can learn from the RubyGems situation and how we can move forward. blog.peterzhu.ca/open-source-...

Bundler belongs to the Ruby community
I’ve spent 15 years of my life working on Bundler. When I introduce myself, people say “oh, the Bundler guy?”, and I am forced to agree. I didn’t come up with the original idea for Bundler (that was Y...

The more I work on my Rails World talk, the more ideas I get. Lots of good stuff I'm excited to share. Only 2 weeks away!
Found an 8 year old db snapshot collecting $0.06 a month for years on AWS. It was hiding in a region that's not used for anything else on this account. Love AWS.
@excid3.com thanks for being at my RailsConf talk and mentioning it on the Remote Ruby recap episode.
