Gm/gn to everyone except that bitch from fallout nv that asked me to retrieve her husband's corpse from a den of armed methheads but then got mad i asked for payment like damn bitch i dont even work here

Bittersweat feeling: Identifying and interpreting a game's themes as you play, getting ready to post about your thoughts only to have an in-game character spout your take nearly verbatim, thus confirming your interpretation but also making it no longer interesting to share

Iud commercial and you're having safe sex without need for condoms in your room and then it cuts to me atop a horse glancing at your window from a nearby hill in satisfaction over a job well done. i tip my hat and ride into the sunset, bags full of copper iuds, big iron by marty robbins plays

current electorate is really into authenticity in their candidates and i used to feel neutral to somewhat positive on that but the whole platner debacle is starting to make me feel like it's getting to a point of obsession where obvious red flags being ignored by campaign strategists is encouraged

Everyone on the tl is doing a good job at keeping deltarune spoilers away from me but i get the feeling that's cause the fanart hasn't had time to cook so i fully expect untagged art retelling the entire chapter in the coming days

tryna enjoy some old movies i havent rewatched in a bit and getting hit by the borderline/straight up SA i did not notice on first watch (Blade Runner, Rocky, The Warriors, probably more to come)

Rewatched the phantom menace and honestly it wasn't that bad That being said I can see why people haaaaated it. I think the movie's biggest mistep is failing to properly show how brutal the droid invasion of Naboo was.

I don't mind Rogue One making it so Galen deliberately built a flaw into the Death Star but I don't think it was a contrivance to begin with. It's an experimental station of the size of a small moon built by fascists, of course its gonna have some stupid flaw that gets overlooked.

the thing about finishing andor is that i think for a second "oh boy that was great, cant wait to check out all the other good star wars content!" and then i get sad

i think that one universal rule of politics is that outside of specialized lawyers no one understands how immigration legally works, that includes both the native populations of all countries in earth and the immigrants themselves

watching andor season 2, enjoying the well crafted visuals and expertly written dialogue, savoring the themes, thinking how better i am than *those* star wars fans only to lose my shit at a single offhand mention of the rakatans (knights of the old republic reference!!!!)

It's weird that while rewatching a new hope and the deer hunter, i went it to each movie with the opposite mindset: that after years now id end up apreciating the great epic american war movie and nitpicking the schlocky blockbuster only to feel like the latter is straight up better than the former

Rewatched a new hope and om surprised by how little Jedi Stuff(tm) there is in it. The movie waits a whole 40 minutes before Vader makes a modest demonstration of how the force can be used and altogether there's like a One agregate minute of lightsaber fighting in the whole thing

Jedi are cool and all but as impressive as the power of a few select force users is, 90% of jedi are just laser swordmen who can lift medium sized objects with their minds so I can definitely understand that one imperial officer scoffing at vader's comparison between the force and the death star

dear yoshi, please either make riposte uncastable when under slowing hex (cause the spell that sends you 20 meters forward is not a movement ability for some reason) or reduce apollo's hp gain per boon so he's not tankier than billy, thanks

Reading the wikipedia article on its reception, it's interesting how much critics focused on the supposed movie's depiction of north vietnamese as sadistic torturers. I really didn't pay it any mind but Ig if the war just ended then yeah, it could read as a reassertion of dehumanizing rhetoric

rewatched the deer hunter i enjoy it but it's always felt like its missing an effective climax. nicky's not developed enough as a character for me to care whether he makes it out alive and the ending where they all start singing just makes me feel Nothing

"Like the Titanic, [Titan] overlooked safety measures and failed to prepare for disaster, insisting nothing could go wrong" my brain: "it can only good happen"
