Even as @wsocial.eu onboards more and more users, they can’t seem to get them to talk to each other 🤐 This atrocious engagement rate (~9%) for users on the W PDS has been steady as a rock since day 1 (here you can see it in the daily totals and percentages). #WhosThereSocial

How is this possible? #WSocial hosts 26k accounts but only 5.4k have provided ID verification (and thus can post). Of those, only 2450 people (as of this AM) have EVER published a SINGLE post or reply. By comparison, on Eurosky (26k accounts) EVERYONE can post. No ID required #WSocialPics

Far-right-welcoming @wsocial.eu has only 5.4k verified users and less than half of them have ever posted more than once. For a network that doesn’t want more bubbles, sure seems like a teeny wee bubble. How long before it pops? #tumbleWeedSocial

Lately I have noticed anti-immigrant rhetoric from #WSocial users - as well as posts containing hate speech that are NOT moderated. Thankfully I subscribe to @blackskyweb.xyz moderation and I want to thank @jdot.blacksky.team and his team for labeling one of the worst W accounts. #WSocialPics

In meinem Uber gab es heute ein Karaoke-Mikrofon. Ich war kurz davor den Fahrer zu fragen, ob er auch passend "Schnappi das Krokodil" spielt, denn das war hier in Taiwan um 2009/10 tatsaechlich ein kleiner Hit 😀 Moin zusammen und euch einen gesunden Start in diesen Freitag. Alles wird gut!

Eine Aufnahme aus dem Innenraum eines Autos (vermutlich eines Taxis), die auf die Rückseite des Vordersitzes gerichtet ist. Zentrales Motiv: In der Sitztasche des schwarzen Vordersitzes steckt ein auffälliges, kabelloses Karaoke-Mikrofon in Roségold und Weiß mit integriertem Lautsprecher und Bedientasten. Details & Umgebung: Links neben dem Mikrofon schauen zwei weiße Schraubverschlüsse von Wasserflaschen aus der Tasche hervor. Der Fußraum ist in lilafarbenes Ambientelicht getaucht, und rechts ist die Mittelkonsole mit den hinteren Lüftungsschlitzen erkennbar.

I wish the Atmosphere had content warnings (like on the fediverse)... because I'd like to show you the limits of free speech absolutism and the kind of content that is allowed on #WSocial: blatant racism, xenophobia and transphobia. X vibes... but hey, it's "hosted in Europe" 😒

Posts by Anna Zeiter (W Social's CEO) about the company's approach to free speech and moderation. They read: "I strongly believe that everyone should be welcome on W, regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, skin colour, origin, religious or political beliefs, as long as they can verify they are human and behave toward others in a civil and lawful way. We don’t need W to become another echo chamber. We need a platform where people with very different views can meet, listen to each other, challenge each other and disagree without immediately trying to cancel or silence one another. More dialogue. Reminder: currently you can’t log into W app using your existing ATProto account. You can’t migrate from/to W without help from a dev. You can create a W account and if you want to post, comment, message & interact on W app, you need to successfully scan your govt ID + face (screenshot).

Can I use W social without verifying my ID?
