a cartoon directed by ben "bugs" hardaway had a model sheet with a rabbit labeled [bug's bunny], and this eventually became the name "bugs bunny" so what i am saying is that technically "bugs bunny" is a term like "frankenstein's monster"

a model sheet with the early version of bugs bunny who sounds like woody woodpecker and looks weird and it's labelled [MODEL SHEET M.M. 22. "Bug's Bunny"
